• Choir celebrates American gospel music

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Gospel Choir will perform its 13th annual spring concert at 7 p.m., Monday, April 27, in the Alys Stephens Center's Jemison Concert Hall, 1200 10th Ave. S., Birmingham. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. General admission tickets are $6; tickets are $5 for UAB students and employees with valid I.D., and $4 for children ages 12 and under.

The UAB Gospel Choir is conducted by Kevin Turner. UAB Gospel Choir recordings will be available for purchase. Call 205-975-2787 for ticket information.

The UAB Gospel Choir will celebrate American gospel music. The concert will feature more than 100 voices and the UAB Gospel Choir dance team and band. The program includes music from the UAB Gospel Choir's latest recording, "Gospel 101: GO DOMINATE!" plus the music of Hezekiah Walker, Jonathan Butler, Dorinda Clark-Cole and other favorites.
