BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Liver Center is hosting "Liver U - Straight Talk for Your Health," 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday April 16 at the Berry Middle School Library, 4500 Jaguar Dr., Hoover, Ala., 35242. The discussion topic will be fatty liver disease and nutrition.

UAB Liver Center Nurse Practitioner Tracey Gwaltney, C.R.N.P., and nurse Cindy Joiner, R.N., will discuss nutrition and the proper diet for those with liver disease, crash diets and diet pills, sample menus and nutritional information on fast foods and eating out.

There will be light refreshments. There is no cost and the program is open to the public, but registration is requested.
