Powell discusses the red and blue states, the swing states and the states Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama must win for victory.

Powell is a professor in the UAB Department of Communication Studies. He is an author and a renowned expert on political communication. His books include "Political Campaign Communication: Inside and Out," which he co-authored with Joseph Cowart in 2003.
