In Lyle Lovett's work two roads come together - the trail blazed by the great Texas storytellers and the crooked highway navigated by sophisticated wise-crackers. Lovett has combined these two paths to create songs humorous and heartbreaking, such as "If I Had a Boat," "God Will," "If I Were the Man You Wanted," "Family Reserve" "Her First Mistake," "That's Right (You're Not From Texas"), "Here I Am," "She's Already Made Up Her Mind," "Nobody Knows Me" and "The Road To Ensenada."

John Hiatt's career has spanned more than 30 years and his songs have been covered by the stellar and varied likes of Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Jewel, Willie Nelson, Roseanne Cash, Linda Ronstadt, B.B. King, Iggy Pop, Three Dog Night and The Neville Brothers. He has said that he doesn't consider himself a professional songwriter, but Hiatt has been rewarded by that profession with Grammy nominations, as well as the Artist Songwriter of the Year citation presented at the Nashville Music Awards in recognition of his extraordinary achievements, both as artist and songwriter.
