BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Gov. Bob Riley will discuss his Accountability and Tax Reform plan with UAB faculty, staff, students and alumni at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, in the Hill University Center Alumni Auditorium, 1400 University Blvd. Alabamians will vote on the referendum Sept. 9. The Higher Education Partnership of Alabama sponsors Riley’s visit.

The UAB Pep Band and Undergraduate Student Government representatives will greet the governor in the Hill University Center Plaza and escort him into the auditorium, where UAB President Carol Z. Garrison will introduce him.

UAB senior Lucy Jones, a 2003 Truman Scholar and summer intern with the Campaign for Alabama, and Gordon Stone from the Alabama Partnership for Progress also will speak.
