In this free Chamber Music @ AEIVA program, “Luna: A Celebration of the Moon,” hear music inspired by the art on show and performed by faculty and guest artists from the Department of Music.
Each Tuesday in February from 5-7 p.m., the Birmingham Zoo will present new and fascinating subjects inspired by “Blue Moon Cocoon” by artist Virginia L. Montgomery.
The Annual Juried Student Exhibition gives UAB Department of Art and Art History students a professional review experience and the opportunity to exhibit in a contemporary art museum.
Montgomery’s recent video, sculpture and photography will be on display from Jan. 15 through March 21, 2026, alongside art she selected as juror for the 50th Annual Juried Student Exhibition.

AEIVA will open the exhibition with a free public reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, as part of the 2025 Arts Block Party presented by the UAB Center for the Arts.

At “A Night of the Arts” Gala on Sept. 5, works by four Alabama artists exhibited by the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts this year will vie for the top prize — a permanent home at UAB.
Eat, drink and dance at the 2025 Arts Block Party, a night of music, art and community, featuring vibrant emerging jazz artists Endea Owens and The Cookout.
This all-inclusive evening, the biggest fundraiser of the year for UAB’s nonprofit arts organizations, includes valet parking, food, drinks, a private concert by Wilson Phillips and an after-party.

People with spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis or transverse myelitis shared stories, lyrics and poetry about life in a wheelchair to create this original new work for the stage, part of the UAB Disability Arts Festival.
Bachelor of Fine Arts students will have their works on display at AEIVA, with a closing reception 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 2.
The festival will celebrate the work of artists across all genres from the disability community, amplify voices and experiences, and advocate for change.
A free opening reception will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, with gallery talks by Chitty and Meissner beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Holiday fun includes Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s Creole Christmas on Dec. 13, affordable events for families and a giftwrap workshop for adults. Plus, concert tickets and art classes are great gifts for all ages.
