Cynthia Brown, M.D., has been elected to the board of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA). Brown, the director of the Division of Gerontology, Geriatrics and Palliative Care at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will serve as the chair of the Health Sciences Section.
Brown was chosen by the members of GSA, which consists of more than 5,500 researchers, educators and practitioners.
The GSA is the nation’s largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to research, education and practice in the field of aging.
Brown will begin her term in November.
