Zina Trost, Ph.D., has been selected to receive the 2016 John C. Liebeskind Early Career Scholar Award from the American Pain Society.
The Early Career Scholar Award recognizes early career achievements that have made outstanding contributions to pain scholarship. It was created in 1998 to honor the memory of John C. Liebeskind, Ph.D., a past president of APS who was a noted pain researcher, scientist and teacher.
Trost, an assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Psychology’s medical psychology clinical program, studies risk factors for development of musculoskeletal disability, including pain-related fear and perceptions of injustice, as well as development of gaming and virtual reality interventions to mitigate these risk factors in pain and physical trauma populations.
The award will be presented later this spring.
