Endowed professorship in French and Proust studies established

A new endowed professorship in French and Proust studies named in honor of William Carter, Ph.D. established in the College of Arts and Sciences.

william_carter_7 The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees established an endowed professorship in French and Proust studies in the UAB College of Arts and Sciences during its meeting Sept. 16, 2011.

The professorship is being created in honor of William Carter, Ph.D., distinguished professor emeritus of French in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and will be funded by gifts made in his honor.
