Kaleidoscope, the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s student newspaper, won three advertising awards at the recent Alabama Press Association convention.
Kaleidoscope was awarded first place in the Best Classified Advertising Section category for the second year in a row; first place in the Best Innovative Online Advertising category for “Let’s Ride” for UAB Transportation; and second place in the Best Single Ad 1/2 Page and under-color category for “We Can” for UAB Recycling.
The newspaper competes in Division E among all newspapers, commercial and college, of similar size in Alabama. A total of 37 newspapers submitted 968 entries in 18 categories in this year’s contest. The entries were judged by the West Virginia Press Association.
