Students in the UAB School of Education autism spectrum disorder program will host “Autism: Unlocking the Mystery” on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in conjunction with the Autism Society of Alabama and Birmingham City Schools’ special education department. The event, open to parents, service providers and educators of individuals with autism spectrum disorders, and it will feature more than 30 speakers, lunch, vendors, a fashion show and door prizes. The keynote for the event will be Tommy Bice, Ed.D., Alabama’s state superintendent of education.
The conference, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will take place at Gardendale First Baptist Church, South Campus, located at 940 Main Street. Registration is $35, $25 for students.
The event feature more than 30 speakers, lunch, vendors, a fashion show and door prizes.
