The enrollment campaign for UAB’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3) kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013. Volunteers from UAB and the American Cancer Society will visit various areas of campus and UAB Hospital to spread the word about the study. UAB’s goal is to enroll at least 1,201 people in the study and kick off is an opportunity to learn more about it with in-person assistance.
CPS-3 gives the general public the opportunity to help scientists understand the genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that cause or prevent cancer, which will ultimately save lives. All UAB employees, faculty, staff, physicians, patient caregivers, students and members of the public who are between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer (excluding basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma) can join this historic study.
