Art for sale includes photos, microscopic images, paintings, drawings, jewelry, woodworking and class objects. Donations from collectors include international art and memorabilia. Some of the more memorable pieces are an antique white gold diamond ring circa 1930, valued at more than $800 and a white gold with diamonds ladies watch circa 1950, valued at $400.
Silent auction items include a night's stay at Ross Bridge Resort, free rounds of golf at Oxmoor Valley Golf Course and gift packages from Aveda, Virginia Samford Theatre and Jim and Nick's Restaurants.
Rett syndrome is a disorder of the nervous system that leads to developmental reversals, especially in the areas of expressive language and hand use. Rett syndrome occurs almost exclusively in girls and may be misdiagnosed as autism or cerebral palsy. The condition affects about one of every 10,000 children.
