Students and parents of Hemphill Elementary School will have the opportunity to engage in a night full of science, technology, enginnering, arts and math on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The STEAM Family Inovlement night, hosted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Education in partnership with the Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initivate, will begin at 6 p.m. at Hemphill Elementary. The evening will expose students to critical concepts and skills through authentic problem solving, while also celebrating the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
Families in attendance will experience hands on learning with engineering techniques, which will be facilitated by UAB School of Education students.
The event will also provide UAB students real world experience with students and understand the importance STEAM education has in the classroom.
