Brian McKnight, award-winning contemporary rhythm and blues musician, will perform Friday, Oct. 26, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The performance is presented by UAB’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center. The show is set for 8 p.m. VIP dinner packages with premium seating are also available.
McKnight has gained international and domestic recognition, earning himself a spot in contemporary music history. He has released 19 albums to date over the past 25 years, selling more than 30 million albums worldwide. In addition to being a singer, songwriter and producer, McKnight is also a multi-instrumentalist who plays nine instruments including piano, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, trombone, tuba, flugelhorn and trumpet. With 16 Grammy Award nominations and numerous chart-topping songs, McKnight has established himself as a musical legacy.

McKnight has received Soul Train and American Music awards and been named Billboard Songwriter of The Year. His most notable album, “Back At One,” sold more than 3 million copies. McKnight also starred in the Broadway production of “Chicago” and used his vast industry knowledge as a red carpet host for Extra! TV.
His latest studio album, “Genesis,” was released in August 2017 through Sono Recording Group. The first single release off the album, “Forever,” quickly reached the Top 25 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Chart, and peaked high with radio charts all over the country. McKnight’s second single from that album is “I Want You.” “Genesis” spent three consecutive days on the American iTunes Charts in the Top 50 at the time of its release, and has continued to soar on multiple radio stations worldwide.
