Join UAB physicians and members of the cervical cancer community for an open discussion on the cervical cancer experience.The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center invites those impacted by cervical cancer and their families to attend the CeMe Conversations event on Wednesday, June 14.
UAB Medicine physicians will lead the evening’s panel dialogue addressing the difficult conversation of living with the disease while members of the cervical cancer community will share their unique experiences of facing a diagnosis. Attendees will be invited to participate in a Q&A with the panel members following the panel discussion.
“Cervical cancer remains a challenging public health issue that suffers from a lack of appropriate attention to not only treatment, but more importantly prevention,” said Charles A. Leath III, M.D., division director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the UAB Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine. “Programs like CeMe Conversations will allow additional focus on the importance of what we can do as a community to break down these barriers.”
