Kimberly Tsoukalas GASP Website Graphic Climate change is a topic that concerns researchers, students and residents globally. A useful strategy to combat climate change is “think global, act local,” climate experts say.

To learn about ways to act locally, join the Lister Hill Center for Local Action for “How the Urgency of Climate Change is Impacting Birmingham” to be presented by the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health on Wednesday, March 9, at noon via Zoom.

The event is an educational opportunity that will explore ways to combat a global issue like climate change at the local level and steps that are already being taken to protect the city of Birmingham from air pollution and environmental hazards. During the event, The Greater Birmingham Alliance to Stop Pollution will present a detailed account of the national, regional and local implications of climate change policy and advise about ways to get involved.

The event is free and open to public. To register for the event, click here.
