Specialized diagnostic services available through the UAB MS Center include advanced neuroimaging, cerebrospinal fluid testing, electrophysiological testing, and neuropsychological evaluation. MS specialists at UAB work closely with specialists in neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-urology, urogynecology & pelvic reconstructive surgery, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry, psychology and pain management to provide the best available care to MS patients. State-of-the-art treatment facilities – including infusion centers, available at multiple locations throughout UAB – provide patients with friendly and patient-centered care. Specialized services including intrathecal baclofen pump placement and management, chemotherapy for aggressive disease, therapeutic plasmapheresis, wheelchair seating assessment, and driving assessment for visually and physically disabled MS patients are also available.
