Dr. Blakeslee-Carter presentingThe UAB Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy is dedicated to fostering the mission of academic medicine through our training program. Many of our faculty have benefited from dedicated, protected research time during their training. We feel that time to focus on literature review, study design, grant submission, data abstraction and manuscript preparation will prepare each trainee to pursue a career in academia. Opportunities exist to receive formal post doctoral degrees. For those who ultimately choose to pursue private practice, this time can still be valuable for lifelong learning skills and ability to critically appraise data.

Below are several programs offered at UAB and examples of other outside grant opportunities in the vascular surgery community. There are also opportunities in basic science research labs within the Department of Surgery. Click here for more information about department research.
