Three incoming faculty will join the UAB Department of Surgery this month, taking positions in the divisions of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Acute Care Surgery and Gastrointestinal Surgery.
The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery welcomes a new clinical assistant professor at the UAB Multi-Specialty Clinic at Baptist Montgomery, John McKinney Jr., M.D. McKinney will replace Clinical Assistant Professor Harry Kourlis, M.D., who is stepping down from his position at the clinic at Baptist Medical Center South.
The Division of Acute Care Surgery receives a new instructor this month as well, Eric Schinnerer, M.D. Schinnerer is a graduate of the UAB Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and General Surgery Residency.
The Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery also welcomes a new instructor, Michael Hernon, M.D. Hernon comes to UAB from Hartford Hospital where he worked as a critical care attending until he decided to pursue colorectal surgery.
