UAB Medicine has tapped Department of Surgery Chair Herbert Chen, M.D.; Cheri Canon, M.D., FACR; and C. Seth Landefeld, M.D., as physician leaders to join the newly formed Joint Operating Leadership Committee.

Dr. Herbert ChenThe JOLC was created as part of UAB’s Organizing for Success initiative to generate greater input from faculty leaders. In addition to the newly named physicians, the JOLC includes UAB School of Medicine Dean Selwyn Vickers, M.D.; UAB Medicine CEO Will Ferniany, Ph.D.; and Chief Physician Executive Tony Jones, M.D. The JOLC replaces the JOL, which was a triad comprising the dean, the CEO and the president of the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation.
