This month, the Department of Surgery welcomes several new faculty recruits to the UAB family.

As announced previously, Jan O. Jansen, Dr. Med., Ph.D., from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and Brenessa Lindeman, M.D., from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, will begin working on Tuesday, August 1, as director of research in the Division of Acute Care Surgery and associate director of the General Surgery Residency Program, respectively.

Parker Hu, M.D., former Critical Care Fellow in the Division of Acute Care Surgery, will also begin as an assistant professor on Tuesday, while Richard Hanney, M.D., continues in his dual role as clinical senior lecturer at Sydney Medical School and professor in our Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery, after receiving a voluntary faculty appointment from the UAB Department of Surgery in July.
