Dr. Jayme LockeThe Division of Transplantation’s Jayme Locke, M.D., has been appointed to the new position of assistant chief medical officer for inpatient quality and patient safety with UAB Medicine.

“She will work closely with Dr. Emily Boohaker, associate chief medical officer for quality and patient safety, and our quality and safety teams to ensure effective processes and systems are in place to support the delivery of safe and effective patient care,” said Loring W. Rue, III, M.D., chief medical officer for the UAB Health System and professor in the Division of Acute Care Surgery.

Locke’s period of service began earlier this month on April 1.
