UAB Division of Breast & Endocrine Surgery Associate Professor Brenessa Lindeman, M.D., MEHP, FACS, has been accepted into the Association of Women Surgeons’ Shining Star Leadership Program.
This inaugural program is designed to equip junior women surgeons with the skills and professional development training to advance their careers to the next level of leadership. Through the competitive application process, ten participants were selected.
Participants will each take a detailed leadership assessment and participate in a virtual, half-day leadership development course to learn about their leadership styles and review ways to cultivate resilience and grit in the face of adversity.
Applicants were required to be members in good standing of the Association of Women Surgeons and have practiced their surgical specialty for a minimum of five years.
Professional Background & Accolades
Lindeman serves as vice chair of education for the Department of Surgery and is chief for the Section of Endocrine Surgery. She is also the program director of the UAB Endocrine Surgery Fellowship and assistant dean for UAB Graduate Medical Education. Lindeman was also recently selected for the acclaimed Macy Faculty Scholars Program earlier this year.
