Vikas Dudeja, M.D., FACS, James P. Hayes, Jr., Endowed Professor in Gastrointestinal Oncology and Director of the Division of Surgical Oncology, has been accepted into the Society of Clinical Surgery (SCS), one of the most prominent clinical societies for surgeons.
Dr. Dudeja is one of the few inductees for 2023 in the SCS, whose membership is deliberately kept small and members are only elected before the age of 45.
“I am honored to be selected into such a prestigious surgical society,” said Dr. Dudeja. “SCS affords its members opportunities to demonstrate developments in operative methods and surgical teaching. I look forward to this opportunity directed towards the advancement of surgery.”
Over the last 14 years, Dudeja has dedicated his research to evaluating the pathobiology of pancreatic cancer and devising strategies to address its progression and metastases. An expert in hepatobiliary malignancies, immunology and stromal biology, Dr. Dudeja has received numerous national grants including National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, Veteran affairs program and various society grants (Society of Surgical Oncology, National Pancreas Foundation, to name a few).
