The UAB Department of Surgery is honored to welcome a new program coordinator for the General Surgery Residency Program, Jacquetta Bennett.

Joining General Surgery Residency Coordinator Rachael McDonald, Bennett will serve as a liaison to residents, faculty, and staff in the daily operation of the residency program and communicate as the first point of contact for applicants in the interview and onboarding process.

"I have enjoyed meeting and getting to know our residents, faculty, and staff. They all have been extremely friendly and welcoming," notes Bennett.  

Bennett is a native of Birmingham, AL. She received her Bachelor of Science in occupational safety and health from Columbia Southern University and is a board-certified graduate safety professional.

She enjoys spending time with her 12-year-old daughter, Sumer, and cocker Spaniel, Brownie.
