UAB Division of Breast and Endocrine Surgery Assistant Professor and Associate Scientist for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research (MHRC) Lily Gutnik, M.D. has been selected to receive the 2022 UAB MHRC Excellence in Mentoring Award.

With this award, the MHRC recognizes faculty members who have provided exemplary mentoring and have nurtured the growth and career development of scholars participating in their research and training programs.

The MHRC research program works to develop and test interventions to reduce health disparities by partnering with researchers of various disciplines and scientific backgrounds. Researchers are equipped with funding opportunities and training development to further their research processes.

Gutnik was presented with the award at the UAB MHRC Alumni and Mentors Luncheon in September.
