UAB Department of Surgery Associate Professor Brenessa Lindeman, M.D. MEHP, FACS, was named in the 2022 Association of Women Surgeons 40 Under 40!

AWS is committed to supporting women surgeons at any stage of their career through their program and services to: engage, empower and excel current and future women in surgery. 40 Under 40 recognizes the leadership and development of individuals who support and uphold the missions of the AWS foundation.

Originally from Kentucky, Lindeman received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University. She is a distinguished surgical educator and has earned a Master’s of Education in the Health Professions from John Hopkins University.  

Lindeman has been acknowledged for her impact in the field of surgery as well as being a trailblazer for women in surgery with her desire to enhance the educational experiences of medical students and residents.
