UAB Department of Surgery Communications Director Marissa Cabrera Keppley, MBA, and Division of Pediatric Surgery Associate Professor Colin Martin, M.D., FACS have been selected to participate in the UAB Healthcare Leadership Academy (HLA). They will be members of the 2023 cohort.
“It’s an honor to represent my team and the Department of Surgery,” says Keppley. “I have always wanted to participate in HLA and I am excited to join such a stellar cohort of peers.”
With collaborative efforts by the Heersink School of Medicine and the Collat School of Business, HLA is designed to support and train health systems clinicians and executives who possess the skills necessary to lead their organizations.
The HLA program comprises group projects, classroom lessons, and experiential learning to cultivate participants current strengths and objectives, equipping them with a broad understanding of the responsibilities, management techniques and new perspectives as leaders in the 21st century.
“I am excited and honored to be accepted into this year’s cohort for the UAB Health Leadership Academy.
