The Junior Faculty Exchange Program involves a reciprocal exchange of a Department of Surgery Assistant Professor-level faculty from UAB and several intuitions during the summer of an academic year.
The program was created to build an academic relationship between the participating surgical departments and to provide a mechanism for junior faculty to disseminate their research, expand their networks and learn from other leaders and experts outside of their home institution.
In past years, a typical visit lasts two or three days, and the visiting faculty member usually gives a lecture to students and residents, as well as a section/division-level lecture. Some institutions have used the visit for grand rounds.
This year, the following individuals have been selected for the faculty exchange program:
University of California-Davis
- Jan Jansen, MBBS, Ph.D.
- Visiting: Lisa Brown, M.D., MAS, FACS, assistant professor in the Division of General Thoracic Surgery and clinical director of Comprehensive Lung Cancer Screening Program
University of Florida
- Vikas Dudeja, MBBS
- Visiting: Lindsey Goldstein, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery and chief of staff at the VA Hospital in Gainesville, FL
University of Michigan
- Britney Corey, M.D., MACM, FACS
- Visiting: Christina Angeles, M.D., assistant professor of surgical oncology
Department leadership extends its congratulations to the UAB faculty chosen and are looking forward to hosting visiting faculty this summer.
