UAB Department of Surgery Professor and UAB Medicine Chief Wellness Officer David Rogers, M.D., delivered the distinguished 2020 Gallie Day Gordon Murray lecture to the University of Toronto Department of Surgery.
Although the lecture occurred over Zoom this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Department Chair James T. Rutka, M.D., Ph.D., FACS, was “confident that Gallie Day was equally as good as, if not better than, those held in previous years.”
Rutka, and the department, thanked Rogers for delivering the lecture, stating that a large part of the success of the 46th Gallie Day was directly related to “his outstanding lecture entitled ‘A Multi-Level Approach to Improving Provider Well-Being’, which resonated with everybody who attended the conference.”
In lieu of receiving an honorarium, Rogers chose to have his honorarium donated to frontline COVID-19 workers and nurses.
