As the UAB Healthcare Educators Academy prepares to launch in September, Assistant Professor of Surgery Brenessa Lindeman, M.D., MEHP, gets ready to join the Academy's first class of mentees.

The HEA works to support the professional and personal growth of the UAB healthcare community. The Academy comprises of a steering committee, a team of faculty mentors and a class of 12 mentees.

After they are recognized at the HEA Opening Ceremony on Sept. 17., mentees will begin the two-year process of creating an orginal educational or scholarly resource project within the Academy.
