Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology Brenessa Lindeman, M.D., MEHP, was recently chosen to serve as the new wellness champion for the Department of Surgery.

This position will allow Lindeman to work together with David Rogers, M.D., MHPE, the senior associate dean of faculty affairs and professional development and chief wellness officer for UAB Medicine.

"UAB is continuing to position itself as a leader in shining a light on the importance of wellbeing among faculty, trainees, students, and staff," Lindeman said. “The opportunity to have a designated individual focused on wellbeing within each department is a great step forward toward improving the working and learning environment for all. I am truly honored for the opportunity to advance these efforts within the Department of Surgery, and I look forward to learning more about the priorities of and opportunities for improvement from our faculty, residents, and students in these areas.”
