The second annual Surgery Bootcamp took place earlier last month, May 1-12, and was hosted by Kimberly Hendershot, M.D., Britney Corey, M.D., Richard Stahl, M.D., and the Department of Surgery, and supported by the Office of Interprofessional Simulation team.
Fifteen fourth-year medical students who matched in general surgery, orthopedic surgery and urology participated in the two-week course intended to prepare them for surgical internship. The course included a combination of interactive didactics, procedural training, mock pages and immersive simulations. Participant evaluations were again overwhelmingly positive for this now annual event.
