Zachary BurnsMedical student Zachary Burns, mentee of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery's Robert Dabal, M.D., was recently selected as one of the UAB Department of Pediatrics Russell Cunningham Memorial Research Scholars for Summer 2018.

The Russell Cunningham Memorial Research Program was established by Sergio Stagno, M.D., Chair Emeritus of the Department of Pediatrics, to honor the memory of Russell Cunningham, M.D., a longtime member of the Department of Pediatrics and strong advocate for medical student education. The program is designed to introduce students to pediatrics and pediatric research.
