The Transplantation Society recently named general surgery resident Greg Martens, M.D., the recipient of the $1,000 Anthony P. Monaco Award for the best translational science paper published in Transplantation.

Martens’ xenotransplantation paper, “Humoral Reactivity of Renal Transplant-Waitlisted Patients to Cells from GGTA1/CMAH/B4GalNT2, and SLA Class I Knockout Pigs,” was one of the highest cited and read in the journal for 2017 and was independently selected by the committee members.
