Nina L. Terry, M.D., J.D., FACR, graduated Summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Engineering from the University of Alabama, followed with a Juris Doctor degree from the Yale University School of Law, and a Medical Doctor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine. After completing her diagnostic radiology residency training, she completed a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at the University of Florida, College of Medicine. Dr. Terry joined the UAB Department of Radiology after enjoying thirteen years as a partner with Radiology, P.C. in Sylacauga, Alabama. Dr. Terry’s clinical duties in the Cardiopulmonary Imaging section and General Radiology are spread throughout UAB Hospital and Clinics, and UAB Highlands.
Dr. Terry serves as a member of the Department’s Search Committee, the Student Education Committee, the Radiology Marketing Committee, and as an affirmative action officer. At the University level she is a member of the Committee on the Status of Women at UAB, and a UAB Heersink School of Medicine Learning Community Mentor. In addition to her various University activities, Dr. Terry’s national involvements include being a member of the MOC Subcommittee of the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Rules Committee for the Alliance of Clinical Educators in Radiology, and the AMSER-ACER Academic Radiology Adhoc Committee, while maintaining multiple professional memberships.
In addition to Dr. Terry’s committees and memberships, she continues to focus on her research interests in all modalities of the chest, particularly radiographs and CT along with her interests in medical ethics and in quality control. Through her various awards and honors, including the Certificate of Merit for her scientific exhibit at the RSNA 80th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting, Dr. Terry continues to be an asset to our Radiology team.
