Hrudaya Nath, M.D., completed his training in Poona and Vellore India at the Armed Forces Medical College and the Christian Medical College Hospitals, respectively. After completing his training in India, Dr. Nath also did additional Residency Training at the North Carolina Memorial Hospital at Chapel Hill, North Carolina followed by a Fellowship in CV Radiology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Nath served as first Instructor then Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina before moving to the University of Alabama in 1982 as Associate Professor, moving on to Professor, then Director of CVMRI. Dr. Nath has served on many prestigious committees during his tenure at UAB including the UAB Heersink School of Medicine Admissions Committee, Radiation Exposure Committee, UAB Strategic Planning Committee, Radiology Department Tenure and Promotions Committee (both as co-chair and chair). In addition to his many services to UAB, he has also served on many committees outside of our institution such as the STR Training Committee, SCCT Research and Clinical Trial Committee, ACR Committee on CT Accreditation, and NASCI and STR Curriculum Committees.
Dr. Nath’s area of clinical practice is Cardiopulmonary Radiology, both in adults and children.
