Integrated IR

Integrated IR is part of the NRMP Main Match Cycle. Applications for residency should be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and are due September 25, 2024. Each year, we fill 9 diagnostic radiology residency positions and 2 integrated interventional radiology positions. Candidates matching with these positions will begin their radiology residency training on July 1, 2026. This will allow time for the required one year of clinical experience (prelim year), at UAB or elsewhere, from July 2025 through June 2026. The initial clinical year must be spent in an ACGME-accredited institution.

Completed ERAS applications will be reviewed by members of the Resident Selection and Review Committee. All interviews are extended through the program's Resident Selection and Review Committee via ERAS. If selected for an interview, our office will contact you to arrange a virtual interview on one of our scheduled interview dates. Both the Diagnostic Radiology Residency and the Integrated Radiology Residency programs hold interviews on the same day.

Make sure your ERAS application contains the following items:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • USMLE Step scores
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Dean's Letter (MSPE)
  • Medical School Transcript
