UAB Hospital
One of the top five largest academic medical centers in the country, UAB is nationally recognized as a major center for innovative patient care, clinical research and training. Named as one of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals and No. 1 in Alabama, UAB provides innovative, world-class care. UAB serves as the principal tertiary referral center for Alabama and the region.
UAB Center for Psychiatric Medicine
Part of UAB Hospital, the Center for Psychiatric Medicine (CPM) provides comprehensive psychiatric care to adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals struggling with addiction. Our residency training office, call rooms, and inpatient units are all conveniently located in this central location.
UAB Community Psychiatry Program
UAB is unique among academic medical centers in that it owns and operates our local mental health center, known as the Community Psychiatry Program (CPP). CPP serves individuals with chronic severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder. CPP also has its own Assertive Community Treatment team (known as REACT), which delivers intensive case management to patients in the community. Our residents get the unique opportunity to work with the REACT team.
UAB Sparks Center
UAB Sparks Center is home to most of the outpatient services in the UAB Department of Psychiatry and is where most of our residents have offices. It is located less than one block from CPM, where our inpatient services are located. A full renovation of the Psychiatry floors in Sparks Center was completed in January 2017, making our clinic space one of the nicest at UAB.
Children’s of Alabama
