The Career Development Grants are for three year with a total award amount of  $231,000 each. The three faculty were funded to research various aspects of the premature baby disease bronchopulmonary dysplasia-associated pulmonary hypertension (BPD-PH). BPD-PH represents the most lethal subset of babies with lung disease and about half of all cases of pediatric PH.

Drs. Jain and Willis will perform basic science research on the pathogenesis of BPD-PH and Dr. Gentle will perform clinical research about how to detect BPD-PH earlier.
