Please join us in welcoming Michael A. Lopez, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Neurology, as a co-director for the Residency Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council.

Dr. Lopez is board-certified in child neurology and serves in the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Nerve Conduction and Electromyography, and the Neuromuscular Medicine clinics. He is a member of the UAB Hispanic and Latin American Faculty Association and is active in teaching trainees in pediatrics, child neurology, neurology, and neuromuscular medicine programs at UAB.

He completed child neurology residency at Baylor College of Medicine and neuromuscular medicine fellowship at Stanford University.
