The Carolyn Ashworth Pediatric Primary Care Award has been awarded annually since 2017 in recognition of a graduating resident’s excellence in primary care pediatrics; in their provision and coordination of care to meet the patient's medical, social, emotional, and psychological needs which define high-quality, comprehensive care in the context of the family and society; and for a demonstrated commitment to life-long learning and advocacy. Selection for this award is made by the Pediatric Primary Care Clinic faculty and staff

Dr. Cordes who was also one of the inaugural McDonald Scholars is delighted to be joining Internal Medicine and Pediatrics of Cullman in Cullman, AL.
