L to R: David Ingram and Jimmy AlstonEffective Jan. 2023, David Ingram has transitioned to a new role within the Department of Pediatrics. 

David has recruited and developed a group of strong administrative staff highly capable of managing complex financial grant administration, and with this transition will relinquish direct leadership of that group. David will continue to be responsible for the department’s overall financial management, but his primary focus will shift to oversight of the clinical finances. 

With David’s transition, we are pleased to announce that Jimmy Alston has been promoted to financial officer III, and will lead the team and oversee UAB research administration for the department. With more than twenty years of experience at UAB, Jimmy is a seasoned leader well-suited to this role. Prior to joining Pediatrics, he served as a Joint Health Sciences administrative director in the Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics. Jimmy has an in-depth understanding of all UAB policies and procedures. He is a great listener and communicator, with an incredible work ethic and positive can-do attitude under pressure.

This is really a win-win for the Department of Pediatrics.
