Leaders of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) have selected 35 papers to recognize as the Papers of the Year for 2021. Ammar Saadoon Alishlash, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, is the first author on one of the papers selected for this honor.
The article titled, “Chlorine inhalation induces acute chest syndrome in humanized sickle cell mouse model and ameliorated by postexposure hemopexin” was published in Redox Biology and was selected out of 3,942 publications from NIEHS researchers and grantee.
