L to R: Melissa Mannion and Emily SmithermanThe American College of Rheumatology (ACR) held the Pediatric Rheumatology Symposium (PRSYM) over the weekend of March 29-April 1 in New Orleans, LA. PRSYM is held every three-years.

During this year’s symposium, Melissa Mannion, M.D., assistant professor, and Emily Smitherman, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology, gave talks on pediatric rheumatology topics. Dr. Mannion gave a presentation titled, “Management of Refractory Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis,” and co-lead a roundtable and panel discussion on juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Dr. Smitherman gave a presentation titled, “Contemporary Best Practices for Childhood-Onset Lupus.”
