Tamera Coyne-Beasley, M.D., professor in the Division of Adolescent Medicine, and Michele Kong, M.D., professor in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care, has received the Heersink School of Medicine Professional Excellence Award.
This highly competitive award highlights the accomplishments of faculty members who are part of the Black/African American Faculty Association, the Hispanic/Latinx American Faculty Association, the AAPI Faculty Association, and the LGBTQ+ Faculty Association.
"I am honored to receive the Heersink School of Medicine Professional Excellence Award, and to continue my service to my patients, learners, families and the community at large," said Dr. Kong. "It is critical that we continue to have conversations around DEI, and to take actionable steps to ensure that everyone has equal access and opportunities, regardless of their race, gender, religion or socioeconomic status."
