Richard Whitley, M.D., professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, has been named the recipient of the 2020-2021 Rotary Vocational Service Award by the Rotary Club of Birmingham. This award is given each year to a non-Rotarian person in recognition of excellence in a vocational service that is recognized beyond the territory of the club.
Dr. Whitley was selected for this award for his important work and contributions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is such an honor for me that it cannot be overstated,” said Dr. Whitley. “Recognition from the community in which you live and work is so gratifying and means so much to me.”
Congratulations to Dr. Whitley!
