Nora Switchenko, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Neonatology, has been selected for the first cohort of Pilot Project grantees for the Mary Heersink Institute for Global Health.
The Pilot Project program was established to foster collaboration between investigators at UAB and international partners as they work to address pressing global health challenges.
The title of the project selected for funding is, “Sildenafil citrate to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes in low-resource settings: a randomized feasibility trial.” Co-investigators include: Elizabeth Kibaru, M.D., Egerton University, Amos Otara, M.D., Egerton University, Akila Subramaniam, M.D., UAB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Waldemar Carlo, M.D., UAB Department of Pediatrics.
