Stephen Russell, M.D., professor in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics, has been named to the 2021-2022 class of the Harvard Macy Institute Art Museum-based Health Professions Education Fellowship.
This program is jointly sponsored by the Cambridge Health Alliance Center for Professional and Academic Development and the Harvard Macy Institute and provides a year of training for health profession educators in humanities-based art-in-medicine curricula.
Dr. Russell has led the "Prescribing Art" special topics class in the School of Medicine since 2011. During his fellowship, he will design and pilot a companion curriculum "Diversity and Visual Instruction: New Clinical Insights," or DaVinci program for short, to highlight the work of artists with an Alabama connection and artists of color.
Congratulations Dr. Russell!
